PRESS RELEASE:

Curated by Kildare born artist Barry Keegan the Front Lounge presents an exhibition called “The Art of Boys and Girls” for Dublin Pride in June 2014. The works are presented in a variety of media but all represent the sexes in equal measure, some defying gender and others exploring the face and body. Keegan is joined by 4 fellow artists, Abigail Denniston from Dublin, Paul Delaney from Cork, Sarah Edmondson also from Dublin and Steve Kelly from Offaly.

Barry has previously exhibited in the Front Lounge as well as other galleries in the city. Over the past 6 years Barry has concentrated on painting full time, with a new studio at Steambox, IMOCA, in Dublin city. His work is mainly figurative and in this series entitled “Sit with me” the colour palette is limited to tones of grey with black and white and is a study of the male form. Barry will also have a solo exhibition in the Front Lounge for the month of October.

The Art of Boys and Girls Exhibition opens at the Front Lounge on Thursday the 5^th of June at 7pm and runs for the month of June.

10% of the value of sales from the show will be donated to the Pride Fund.
